As a newproduction of West Side Story tours around Australia, presenter Darcey Bussell chats with Joey McKneely, the man charged with keeping Jerome Robbin’s rollicking production alive.

Featuring a bright new Australian cast, the production features Jerome Robbins’ original choreography from the groundbreaking Broadway show.

West Side Story is one of the best-loved musicals of our time, and 50 years after it’s original debut, the choreography has lost none of its energy, glamour and sense of fun.

After beginning his career as a dancer in Jerome Robbins’ Broadway, McKneely was personally chosen by the musical icon to reproduce his original choreography for West Side Story, and the show has toured around the world to critical acclaim.

In this intimate chat, Joey chats about being chosen to continue Robbins’ legacy, why tall dancers have it tough, and why West Side Story will live on forever.
